Raleigh M-Trax - anyone know what model, etc.?

Retro Newbie
Hi all, I hope it’s OK to ask this here. I was wondering if anyone might be able to give me some more information on this bike and its model?

I’ve had it from new, which I was late 1994, IIRC (time flies) and it’s pretty much all original as shown in the pictures.

I have a little Bicycle Guide that came with it, that has information on how to use the bike and some other bits about the gears, grip shifters and so on.

The booklet has a sticker on the front that says “85013 45 cm M-TRAX” on it and the back, where the guarantee card that I should have sent off (oops) is.

It doesn’t seem to say the model anywhere in the booklet or on the frame, though. Looking through this site, I’ve seen a link to a 1995 Raleigh M-Trax Catalogue ( http://www.retrobike.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?t=11482, http://www.retrobike.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?t=11483 , http://www.retrobike.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?t=11484, etc.), but I’m still not sure if it’s one of those?

I was trying to find out a bit more about it, as sadly, I have to sell it

I couldn’t find how to put images directly in this post, so I added some to a gallery, here:

Apologies for the slight muckiness of it in its current state (it is a mountain bike :p !), the very pink wall and distracting plants and all!

Thank you to anyone who can help on this.

Loz.

well it says team titanium so there is your starter for 10. but... its got mediocre parts, which would indicate its not, as top line framed team issue bike made from titanium wouldn't have some of shimano's cheapest bits on it. think aston martin with cloth seats and a 1.8 litre ford zetec engine in it.
someone way more knowledgeable than me will be along in a min to put me right im sure :D

It's that 1995 'Team Edition' surely? The cheapest of the Ti main tube bikes so a decent frame with fairly low spec components, ripe for upgrading. Yours looks pretty tidy anyway, I like it.

Thank you very much, everyone, for your help with this and trying to find out what model it is. It does say “Team Edition” on one of the frame stickers, so I guess sit must be one of those.

I’ve always enjoyed riding it and while I’m not too surprised about lower spec component bit, it’s nice to know that someone could make more of the frame by adding better bits to it. I seem to remember that the guy changed the front gears to make the setup a slightly higher ratio, as I was going to use it on the road a lot, but if someone would get this to change those bits it wouldn’t matter much.

It does all seem in good condition It should be, anyway, as, to my shame, I’ve not gone out on it nearly as much as I should have and not gone off road much at all. Oh well - maybe someone else can get a lot more enjoyment out of it as a result.

Thank you again, all.

At my school someone had a Dyna-Tech either titanium of carbon bonded tubes with an Alivio groupset.
