Campag Record alloy cranks 10s

Hi all, just wondering if Campag Record alloy cranks from 1995-2007 were all exactly the same, just the chainrings differant depending on what speed it was, eg. 8/9/10

Also, can you run an 8 speed system on record 10S alloy cranks with 10 chainrings?
Or is it better to run the 10 crank with 8 speed chainrings?
Cheers

From those years the cranks were similar but got gradually slimmer over that period, also they went low profile so went from using a 110mm b/b to a 103mm.

Regards rings, I have a 10 speed chainset on my cyclo cross bike running campag 8 speed with no issues, also a road bike running 10 speed chorus chainset running with 9 speed record gearset so I think you should be ok running a 10 speed chainset with 8/9/10 speed set up.

I had some noise and bad shifting problems running early 8-speed cranks in a 9-speed system, which were resolved when I fitted a 10-speed chainset.
