OK, it's not retro, but it's interesting- custom frame builders and other delights, especially for the fixed wheel crew, at the Paintworks in Bristol this weekend. I went and had a nosey around- there's lots of very knowledgeable people there, and some gorgeous bikes with a very retro feel and look to many of them. Also lots of modern twists- rubber drive belts rather than chains, new dynohubs, a frame made from kevlar strings...
Also however, a chap selling lovely brand new 1" threaded headsets (I didn't even know these still existed), decent clothing, loads of Brooks saddles, a frame building course, and loads of like minded people. I might even go back tomorrow...
