Stripping paint… off paint??? plus name that RM!

and could be retrofitted
I always fancied some red turbines to go with the colour scheme, be nice to see what it looks like.

how about these additional red bits to go with the turbines?

if i end up stripping and repainting, i'm thinking maybe a some special colour to go with some minty gunmetal stuff i've socked away? ;)

nope, no signs of serial number within headtube or bottom bracket shell. only red and yellow paint with some black paint in the headtube.

fairly confident that this is indeed a Blizzard, and most likely a 94. looking at claret73 thread, as well as some photos from another Blizzard posted for sale locally, the similarities are great. Same RM stamped drop-outs, same rack mount braze-ons. The headset and fork (which I haven't pictured) that was included with my frame looks to be the same as the one for sale as well.

I haven't seen this thread before, but I think this is definitely a 94 or 95 Blizzard and not an Altitude. The Altitude was a different shape. I don't know how to tell a 94 Blizzard from a 95.

sum'tin like this?

3M™ Marine Rubbing Compound
Suggested for heavy, aggressive compounding of oxidized gelcoat and marine paint. Clings to paint and gelcoated surfaces - remains wet on the job with little or no mess. Buffs to high gloss with minimum of swirl marks. Can be used by hand or machine.

Full Description »
Maintains high rate of cut with constant pressure.

Sorry to half hijack the frame debate...would this rubbing compound suffice for cutting down an over-stuffed powder coated bar (trouble getting the grips on/too wide a gap between stem and stem cap).

Ah FC, can always count on you to breath new life back to an old RM thread! ;)

Here's a recent Thunderbolt pic posting on MTBR. Although only slightly different, I like this schema so much more! That and the fact it's a Thunderbolt in my size!
