Basically you get what you pay for...cheap ADSL deals are often unreliable, the service is capped (limit to how much you download) and you are locked into a 12 or 18 month contract. Compare the market here:

I use a small specialist DSL reselller http://www.multiplaydsl.net/ mainly because i play an unhealthy amount of multiplayer games and their service is geared to such opperations where as almost every other service is geared away from that particular use.

It is also fantastic as the support staff are very easy to get hold of, instantly able to help, and dont treat you as an idiot. (have you tried turning it off then on again?)

However you get what you pay for and the service is relatively expensive when compared to a pile them high sell them cheap reseller.

Previously i was on NTL (now virgin) cable up in leeds. I had been with them since 2001. On the whole it was OK, but when there were problems, customer services were beyond crap. And in latter years we suffered a world of packet loss and routing issues.

I was with AOl before virgin and they were good , but expenisve .

Modem blew off and 1st of january at 11pm , rang them up and a new one was there 3 days later . not bad I think .
