hmm should probably get some pics up of how it looks now.
took the magura off as it wasnt stopping me (think it needs a service and is now up for sale £15 inc postage if anyone wants it)
i'd run it with discs but still can't get my hands on the specialized disc mount for these early FSRs (can't afford a brake therapy one)

A friend of mine had the EXACT same bike as this. I remember his excitement when he got it on finance for a lot of money! He stuck Magura rim brakes on and it was a brilliant all rounder, SOO light as well 
quick update on this one.
XT M760 running gear & front V brake, LX M570 wheels (can't remember the rims off the top of my head)
everything else is LX M560 except the cranks which are some cheap truvativs.
generally a bit of a mish mash of parts, but the main thing is the way it rides which is AWESOME!!!!
