GPS Newbie question

Last week i bought a second hand Garmin 60Cs because I want to a multiple day tour in the Dolomites.

After installing Mapsource (which was quite a struggle), I managed to get a map and a track in my GPS device. I've installed the TOPO map of the Netherlands and downloaded a local track.

Yesterday I went to the starting point and could see the track on my device. It was displayed as a thin dotted black line.

The problem I have is that I can't see or hear the navigation instructions like: "Go Left after 300m".

So my question is: How can I turn on the instructions if I want to ride a track?

Thanks for your help

Have you checked the manual to see if it has these features? Not all handheld GPSs do - mine's a Garmin GPS 12 (a retro GPS) and it doesn't have this feature.

It's not necessary when you're walking as you can quite easily look at it when you get to a turning. Cycling is a different matter though.
