Broke it after sterling service for years.

4 slot under £100. Closer to £50 better.

What can you recommend?

It's a jungle out there, full of gorillas.

Thanks thm.

Re:

A proper Dualit one... OK, it's not quite under £100 for the four slot model but you can replace any part which does eventually fail without any problems, plus it looks, feels and even sounds nice!

We've had ours for over a decade and still going strong, not even had to replace an element yet. I love appliances that can be fixed and if they're made in the UK, even better.

Note that my recommendation is nothing to do with those awful plastic things that pretend to be Dualit toasters...

Every morning i come down just after 6 to find a cup of coffee and my meds on the side, the bread already toasting............ One for me and one to share with the dogs. Mrs HM uses it far more that I do so she must be accommodated.

i shall offer her the dualit option again but i'm not hopeful

Re:

4 slice Dualit... changed a few heater plates over the years and it goes on an on, also has a proper clicky timer.

Re:

I don't know of a toaster that can take decent bread, and by decent bread I mean artisan made not supermarket pap.

Rk.
