I think it must have happened after one of his club's evening '10's . I imagine he was collecting warning signs at the end of it, judging from where it happened

Only saw him a couple of weeks ago on his bike.

Very sad news, I use this road regularly travelling to and from my house on the coast - I didn't know Don but knew of him.

The A24, especially downstream of the Washington roundabout (to the Findon roundabout where I turn off) has far more aggressive drivers on it than it used to - I've been using it for over 20 years.

He was clearly one of the good guys - one less now.
