Got the first coat on today, Hammerite in black. Sorry Xerxes, got your post too late. Incidentally, the brush cleaned up fine in white spirit.

Used the whole 750ml tin, and it went off so quickly, it was hard to get it on and straightened up, before it started to go off.
I will add a normal ' wood and metal ' satin coat to finish it, it will show less of the appalling paint underneath that way, 9 not only mine ! ) and will hopefully be easier to put on.
