You can thin it and clean your brushes with standard white spirit, rather than special thinners and I got pretty good results on a bicycle frame I brush painted. Unfortunately the bicycle was stolen not long after I painted it, so I didn't get to see how durable it was, but it was much easier to apply than Hammerite.
