Trek 800 single speed

Retro Newbie
Made some progress. Fitted Surly 35T stainless chainring to some cranks I had lying about. Fitted 18T rear cog and spacers and new chain. Changed the stem,bars and added some bar ends all from my parts bin.
It might sound low geared but this bike is destined to become a commuter and I don't want to use all my energy getting to work.
I need some mudguards not sure whether to go for black or silver or maybee some coloured ones. If this bike is a success might get it powder coated probably red.
Road tested the bike to work during the dry spell and enjoyed it.
Looks like I have got the single speed bug and allready thinking about the next project, purely an off road bike next time.
