They were from 1997. Came fitted with an RST dual crown fork and were around£400-£500ish.
They were budget but that made them seem desirable as a teenager as it looked like a DH bike and I was able to fool myself that it might be within paper round money budget. It was not.

Thanks, perhaps I'll be on the lookout for some dual crown forks to replace the modern rockshox then.
I've read frame breakage on the seat tubes is quite common, I can see why ! It looks a bit vunerable !!
