so my dad got this in a can he bought once which i kindle took of his hads i have no idea of who made the frame but it was intresting it had a strange spiral double butting effect on the top and down tubes kitted out with full xt. stupidly i sold this a few years ago on ebay when i was skint

It doesn't look like titanium, but the spiral top tube is the same as a Merlin TDB from the late 90s. Merlin as in Leyland, Lancs, TDB as in Tange Double Butted. Their ad used to say 'using the latest spiral-butted Tange tubing'. I think the frames cost c£150. That doesn't mean it's necessarily a Merlin of course, it could be that other outlets sold frames made of the same tubeset, but I must say I've never heard of any.
