:: Meeting at: Trebz's House in Doncaster (Details to be released via PM to those attending). Car parking is safe and away from main roads.

:: Terrain: Single Track, Double Track Quiet country Lanes and Trans Pennine Trail.

:: NO HELMET, NO RIDE (Gloves recommended).

:: Route: 37 miles there 37 miles back following the same route / 5-6 hours riding per day (depending on pace and route options).

:: Directions: Doncaster to S36 4TD. End point here: https://maps.google.co.uk/maps?q=S36+4T ... m&z=14

:: Accommodation: Your own tent. The Thurlmoor campsite charges £3 per tent.

:: Food: You will have to bring your own cooking equipment along with food and some water for the two days away from home. A brew kit is highly recommended as the odd stop along the way is inevitable. Do remember however that there is a pub approximately 1 mile away from the campsite which serves very good food and there are several opportunities to visit village and town stores along the way, there's a Tesco at the side of the Trans Penine Trail at Penistone for example. Rest assured that you not starve to death.

Travelling predominantly via the Trans Pennine Trail this is a nice steady introduction to my little world of two day touring. The ride will start in Doncaster and travel West to Carlecotes where the cheap, cheerful, clean and convenient Thurlmoor Campsite will await your weary bones.

Bring only what you feel is necessary for two days riding. Remember that you will have to carry your own kit for the duration. Some form of waterproof clothing may be of use.

I have ridden this route and used this campsite before and I can safely say that the experience will not be overly taxing. The ride pace will be determined by the slowest rider. This is not a race.

If anyone joins in and is short of camping equipment I may be able to help, let me know what you need.
