Spyre/Spyke differences

Spyre are for road/cross, Spyke for mtb so Spyre work with short pull levers(drop lever, canti levers), Spyke with long pull (v brake levers).
Spyke also tend to have the plastic cover over the top/back of the pads to keep the dirt out but I've seen Spyre's with them too, maybe they were 'cross ones rather than road ones?
