Hi all

Just wondering on what degreeser to get for the bike build?
I'd like to clean and re grease everything including hubs etc.

I'd prefer something that can be bought locally.

Years and years ago I remember using cirus degreaser from halfrauds

Re:

I use whatever is to hand, kitchen roll for bearings and races, wd40 and a tooth brush on lightly soiled chains and cassettes, white spirit on badly soiled chains followed by an overnight soak in 10w40.

Re:

Go to your local home bargain type store and buy some of this:

Its without doubt the best degreaser iv ever used, it brought and old chain and cassette up to looking box fresh with minimal effort. No idea whats in it but for cleaning grease off metal bits its difficult to beat. It rinses off easily with water too, iv got a stash of the stuff in the garage now.

Re:

Degrease, solvent like white spirit will di the job, even petrol as long as you are working outdoors away from flames and sparks (the ignition sort not the mael brothers)

Re:

I use car engine degreaser, something like Gunk, you can rinse things off with hot water afterwards and put them on the radiator to dry thoroughly before re-greasing.
