Specialized FSR XC Test Frame.... ? Any info appreciated...

Hey, new to the forum, decided to get back into biking after a good few years away and wondered if anyone could help me out with some info on this frame I picked up for my build.
Its a Specialized FSR XC Test Bike Frame, with Manitou SX Forks, not sure what year, guesing around a 2000/2001 seems in really good nick, would be interesting to see what peoples thoughts are on value(to see if I payed reasonable price)
Wondered about the 'Test Bike' on the decals ? been told quite rare ??
Any info appreciated..

I had one of these in blue, its a 1999 Stumpjumper FSR XC. They used the same frame design in 2000.

Check the chainstays for cracks around the hole nr the BB, mine went there and Specialized sent me redesigned replacements FOC.

"testbike" decal is because yours was one of the test bikes used for demo rides at dealers around the country.
 
nice - from that days when Specialized was relaying on Manitou forks for their teamriders - have some pics. of Bart Brentjens beside of one of those bikes :cool:
