Nice, I did think about trying to use on of those, but was skeptical about drilling the frame!

I want a dropper post, going to buy one and have a friend turn it down to 26.8 lol

Gravity Dropper make a 26.8mm post but they're hard to get hold of. I would be/am confident about reaming the frame. As to drilling the drop outs they've been good like that for the last five years which included some pretty hard riding when i lived in n wales. I've also riv-nutted bottle bosses onto it. Poor bike. That said, i'm pretty confident it'll last til the end of time.

Good to hear!

I saw Gravity Dropper do a 26.8 one, but I found a version on eBay for a fraction of the price with a lever beneath the seat.

I cracked my first Metalhead in 2001, and my current one is just sitting in the loft as I don't think a 20 year old ally frame will survive the stuff I ride now.

2 remain. One has poorly machined threads, so will be provided with a nut & bolt arrangement and is priced at £40.
