That's a stunning job on the CB.

Cheers Carl, hopefully I’ll get it ready for a test ride on Saturday, then it will be Miss Marpleised...

So, the lad worked late last night, as I want him to learn how to adjust brakes etc. But the Sturmey was, off course a different game and although in this mornings test run, it was operational, it kept jumping out of gear/changing up.
This I soon deduced was from a weakened spring clip on the 3-speed shifter. (school boy error on my part leaving it so late) so a quick click on e-bay for a NOS ‘80s version should do the job. :xmas-wink:

Ok, so before the Miss Marpleisation starts and covers lots of nice bits up, I thought I’d do a little showing off, as right now I think the bike looks at its best….

Looks very sweet indeed.
You have both done a superb job.
I can see the shop front now:
Peachy and Son, fine purvayers of Claud Butler cycles.

Cheers Gents….

Right, on with the show. So here is a picture of what she used to look like back in June. I’m guessing sometime in the 80’s she got a respray & graphics with a Sugino Super Maxy crank set, a SR stem, Sachs 6 speed freewheel, Simplex SX 810 T short cage rear derailleur. And some tidy ‘Made in Belgium’ weinmann wheels (now on my Super courier) All half descent kit, just not really right for her.

Now with the help of a Raleigh chain guard, some aluminium mudguards all painted with the frame and some tan fake leather saddle bags and flask holder and an American Wald front basket, we have this……..
