I had money in my paypal. That is always dangerous thing when something 'interesting' pops up. An ebay reminder showed this collection only listed at a cheaper price that was hard to resist and on my route between customers.

It is lovely. Lots of little quirks that make it a bit above average over other bikes I've had.

Lots of Spidel branded parts - Simplex LJ front mech, that titanium rear mech with the aluminium body, Spidel 'Professional' hubs (which appear very smooth despite their age). The rear wheel is a little wobbly but can be sorted. Never seen Huret aluminium dustcaps before.

The brakes are Mafac 2000, little works of art in themselves. bar and stem are Cinelli with the makers name engraved. Hatta Swan headset.

Hope you like it.

Lots of fun in here:

Regarding the Columbus Acier Special tubing, I got:

''I don't know it specifically, but it's probably a similar idea to the Designer Select that just meant that the builder could pick anything. Given the age, it will probably be various sorts of Columbus Cyclex cro-mo material, such as SL, SLX, PL, KL etc.''

A rear spoke went 'ping' so in went the spare set of wheels for now until I can get my hand on the right freewheel remover.

Torqueless's interpretation: THM is experiencing cognitive dissonance. Chauvinism prevents him from biting LGF's arm off...

If it helps, THM, I think it is Breton... :)
