Holdsworth?

AndyMart

rBoTM Triple Crown
rBotM Winner
Just acquired this, has holdsworth stickers and head badge but has had a repaint, campag hubs on fiamme sprints, stronglight cranks, campag gearing and headset, GB bars and stem, weinmann brakes I think, seems light, seat post is 26mm, has the wrap over seat stay. Anyone shed any light on model and year? I'm guessing late 60s?

Looks like a Mistral variant :). Campag on Fiamme, the bulletproof combo bitd :). I bet they still spin true ....

Re:

Hi, is there a serial number on the bottom bracket, I am guessing it should be in the high 39000's. Terry

Re:

Hi, that makes it around 1966, bad guess on my behalf, I was thinking early seventies. Serial number appears okay ( should be on steerer as well ), it certainly looks like a Holdsworth Mistral from 1966. Nice bike, one of my favourite 'all rounders'. Terry

Wow, it's in pretty good nick considering it's age, will be a pleasure to get it back up and running, I have a very gentle resto in mind, replace as little as possible.

Re:

Hi, just take your time, it looks like it should be a straight forward restore, your decision point may be the paintwork, the components should look great, may be too good for the paintwork ? Terry

The brazed on rear centre pull hanger makes it a bit earlier than it looks as it's such a classy frame. Simple flam colour would look nice and not break the bank :)
