Fixed Road Wheel - 36 spoke, 130mm spacing - virtually new.

Old School Hero
Here I have my beloved Fixed Gear Road Wheel. I had this custom-built for me by Darren Lam, who was chief wheelbuilder at Wheelsmith Cycles in Palo Alto, California (as in Wheelsmith the spokes company). It was built in 1993 and used briefly on my fixie, I then moved to Switzerland, then Scotland and now back to Sussex and it hasn't been used in all that time. I haven't had the heart to sell it till now because it's not only a memento of my time in California but it also cost me a chunk - I spent $175 having this wheel built.

Anyway, it's a Shimano hub with Sun Mistral rim, DT stainless spokes (36 spokes), 130mm spacing, with Specialized Track Adapter (converts freewheel to fixed gear) and includes a 21-tooth rear cog.

The braking surface shows the rubbing you get when a new rim is still bedding in - the braking surface has not yet even been bedded in. In fact, the whole wheel is virtually new - but old, if you get my drift.

This wheel was used in sunny California and has never even seen rain!

Anyway, £35 + P&P.
