There’s 2 numbers on the frame, B001 (can’t quite make out if it’s a B or an 8 )& 1263

Hi,
this is obviously Paul Brodie's first bike made for the European market. In Paul Brodie - The man behind the bikes page 114: "B001 was stamped on July, 1990."
Nice piece of history, unfortunately without original paint, though.

That’s interesting. Are you able to get a pic?
 
Interesting that neither of those look to be in the right place, from what I can see in the pics. Usually the s/n is pretty much central on the shell, almost between where the chain stays join. It can often be hidden under the cable guide
