On my bike I currently have a fork which has an a-c of 374mm with a rake of 43mm. I need to replace it after a crash and have found a replacement which is half the cost of the orginal. However the A-C is 385mm and the rake is 53mm.
The extra 10mm of height is good for me and my bad neck but I am concerned that:
a) the different shape of the fork will affect the handling somewhat. In what way might it feel different?
b) as I ride quite a small frame (52cm) will it bring the wheel closer to my feet too? This is a concern as I use full mudguards and there isn't much room to manouvere.
Thanks in advance. Rob
