Hi - I've just acquired a John Pavey bike and reading on the internet, find that he would apparently take a frame and respray it. The bike has distinctive lugs and I wondered if anyone could recognise them and tell me what the original frame might be...thanks

The head lugs are a standard style used by many builders (Prugnat?) and the rear ends are Campag 'short' ones so nothing particularly special there. A photo of the seat lug area might show something as some builders used varying styles. Any frame numbers?

Hi - thanks very much for the reply...can't see a frame number except there is R5 at one edge visible when I tip the bike up. The plastic gear cables guide (rivet) hides a possible continuation, but a big gap between the 5 and start of the plastic.

Hmm, nothing to special about the seat cluster. If anything, a bit plain! I'm not familiar with Pavey frames so couldn't tell you if this is typical of his building prowess, sorry!
