cycling in cold weather

It's either that or get some portable heaters and strap them onto the side of your head!   :p

just cleaned 3 bikes, my hands are very cold now, on the bike i have gloves but washing bikes makes my hands want to drop off!

Was pretty cold last night.
In the snow.
And slush.
On my summer road bike

Wasn't too bad, but the cars kept overtaking and driving through the icy slush, which covered me head to foot in freezing watery ice. Which then stuck. And made me very cold.
And the water from the road was very cold too.
The ice forming on my gloves didn't help.

Left work thinking it could be fun, like riding in snow is. How wrong was I!

cold

prefer it when its just cold and frosty.cant stand it when its cold and wet ,it finds a way of soaking in which then means you cant seem to get yourself warm ,caught hypothermia twice now thats bloody frighting

Get thee a skull cap.

The best £8 I ever spent in a bike shop.

A really thin stretch bit to go over the top of the head, with two fleecy bits for the ears. When you're your and toasty, flip the ears up and job's a good'un.

Thinner the better in my book. Those with a thick seam for the elastic leave a nice red line when it's been wedged under your bike helmet for an hour!

Yup, today was my first 'skull-cap' day...pretty cold and very windy.
Need
Better lights
Leg warmers
Warmer gloves
Ya-di-ya-di-ya....does the spending ever stop
