As above, what were the coolest cranks in 1994? Not necessarily the most expensive, but the coolest?
IMHO XTR is a bit obvious, so what does Retrobike think?

To add a bit of context I am building an RTS 3 but not original spec, just stuff that's a bit different. Budget is not shoestring, but not unlimited either! :?

Toplines for me. I had to have them!

I agree with LGF. Ot would be from the US and anodised so Grafton/Topline (my first choice) or Cook Bros Racing.

Tioga Revolver if you were a Johnny T fan

Re:

Those purple cooks are awesome!

I fear that my budget may not stretch that far. Cranks seem to be subject to retro tax more than other parts for some reason!

Tioga Revolvers

Or Middleburn, I always likes them.

But the 'coolest' were STX with the Pace spider adapter. (I had those, so it must be true :D )

Not forgetting the grandfather of the present moderns Bullseye crankset. Not the best finish and odd length of 176 mm. but look great on Pace in yellow.

The 1994 only Flight Control Cucamonga, scary and cool in equal measure.

Did they break?

What Middleburn cranks were in production? RS3 or RS2?

I've got some RS7 that are a bit late but lovely..
