Hope C2 rebuild

Hi Guys
Just picked up a cheap Hope C2 front brake from Ebay but surprise surprise the pistons are not fully retracting :roll:
Has anyone taken the pistons out of these ? i belive they screw in , not sure if they are normal right hand thread though ? also what did you use to unscrew them ? any rebuild advice welcome

Hi mate , yes i did see that but wondered if anyone here had tried at all , as we all know these things are rarely as easy as they seem lol

I tried popping a piston out once on some hopes. Sent it to hope in the end. Then sold the parts and bought Shimano....

I managed it a few years back using a pump on the bleed nipple, as per the above link.

Was actually a lot easier than I imagined, if my memory serves.

Cleaned the piston up but it was pitted so didn't do a very good job, as after a couple of rides it was sticky again. If I was to try again I'd be renewing the piston entirely.

new pistons are not that expensive (CRC have them i think). i tried with a hand pump, but couldn't get the seal to stay put - and yes i did open the bleed valve enough

)
