Zaskar seatpost size?

Can anyone tell me what size seatpost I need for a 98 Zaskar LE.
I tried a 27.2 that I took off a 98 Zaskar but it’s too big.
Can anyone tell me for certain what the size is before I commit to buying a new post.

27.2 on every Zaskar I’ve owned. I’ve had 94-98 and all been the same from memory.

GT also did 26.8 seat posts although from my research this changed in the year of 1996 to 27.2. If you are stuggling with 27.2 assume everyone else is a complete plank... check the seat post diameter, check the viner is calibrated, check the seat tube hasn’t been pinched! Is there something stuck in there? Double check everything

1991 zaskar: 26.8
1992 zaskar le: 26.8
1993 zaskar sr: 26.8
1995 Xizang: 27.2
1996 zaskar le: 26.8

The 1996 is a very early model 0196____ (January 1996)
