XTR M950/2, crank spider bdc 94mm/58mm

Shimano do a five bolt that fits :

I am not sure what it is off and it has no part numbers on it ?

It looks like it needs a little tweak to clear the back of the xtr arm and allow it to fit flush :

I haven't stripped it yet but I will neaten that up somewhat when I do :D

95x was offered in both 4 and 5 bolt as standard WD....

I have 2 sets of 952's with 5 bolt mainly they were 5 bolt DH and 4 Bolt XC/OEM

Oh that's interesting, I didn't know it came in a 5, but I didn't know a whole lot about xtr until finding this place ... 8)

I don't think mine must be an origional xtr then - if so, why the modification to make it fit :?

All the DH stuff I have seen (and got) is four bolt :D

Re:

Those were pretty rare and I'm sure we're M950 only, they disappeared from the line up when Shimano noticed that most folk were running MRP type guides in 32 - 38 tooth up front - sure you're will be a bit bigger.

For M952 they used to get thick single rings (AC / Middleburn etc) and bolt them in with any of the guides that were about. Incidentally mine is a set with a 1st gen Evil (later to become E13) SRS which is pretty rare

Worth just mentioning that (if memory serves) the 4-bolt isn't standard, it's a slightly odd BCD I think. The spider that fits with a bit of filing is likely to be LX/XT, m739 possibly.

AC made a compact spider, there was one listed on here recently but way more than I was prepared to pay for it. ATB size comes up much more often though :)

Yeah my four bolt XTR DH is 112mm ?!

That's why I bought a few rings as 'stock' I have a spare one if anyone is interested ... ?
