XT rear mech - dead or repairable?

can this mech be fixed? as you can see, i've lost the pivot, but can't seem to get a screw in there....

feell it may be time up for this mech...well, it is about 18 years old!

what would you do to it? tapp a thread into the end and screw in a bolt?

for the moment i have replaced the mech with another i had rottting away..200GS Power!

p.s -also ready for a full drivetrain change - cogs, rings, chain at least - old school or modern? - dilema..........

I'd use a bolt with a lock nut on the end.
If a metric isn't suitable then use imperial if you can get them where you are?!
