How old are the wheels, how good are the braking surfaces and are the rims straight?

There about 6 months old and only used on the road and the river path on my ocmmute to work, very true built from NOS hubs and rims and new DT spokes at my local LBS, they've built 3 set of wheels for me now and they're all good. the grey on the braking surface is only just starting to come off.

I'll post some better pics later today, when I get a chance.
