I saw a great pair an a local wheel builders a few years ago.
Very nice indeed,they must have been 50 or 60 years old

Saw them at Earls Court last year, they do look great but I can't see anybody using them seriously - just like wooden handlebars, IMHO they are an aesthetic thing

Wood rims were used on the road/track waaaay back in the day. Although you'd imagine they'd be tubs which would back more structural sense.

This does seem a touch 'niche'.

wooden rims were very common a century ago, at least around these parts, not sure but i think i remember my grandad saying they were still around in WWII.
