WTD - short cage 9 speed Shimano rear mech

... as in title, a nice short cage 9 speed Shimano rear mech to complete my girlfriend's 1x9 build... prefer XT or XTR, but WHY (Saint etc?)

Must be in good working order (but I don't mind refubishing it if it saves me a few bucks!) please with no nasty scratches if poss

my mate has a 105 mech that he might trade or sell?
not sure if thats the thing youd be after?
should do 9 speed i believe
can get the right code of the mech off him if necessary?

Ta - yeah I considered that type for my own 1x9 but I think it would struggle with an 11-34 cassette :? I think that 105 is 8 speed judging by the shrouded jockey wheels but I may be wrong and, indeed, often am!
