WTD: quality downtube levers or just backplates

I have a lovely pair of clip-on Simplex shifters, but can't get the backplates off for my frame with downtube shifters. Does anyone have a pair of unwanted backplates or, failing that, a nice pair of (friction) levers for down-tube bosses?
