WTD - modern road bike / hybrid with carbon forks

Looking for a nice modern bike for my father who's 5'10" tall with 30" inside leg... either a flat bar roadie, or a hybrid that's more road than tow path orientated. Ideally 700 x 28c tyres and carbon fork preferred... WHY? Thanks, Alex

ps, I am happy to consider something with racing bars and STIs as I have a 9 speed shifter and some flat bars ready for a potential 1 x 9 and bar conversion

There's a Dawes Discovery 201 on ebay, just whip off the forks for some CF jobs and yer sorted
