As the subject line says, looking for a cheapish touring-type frame with fork, 23" centre-to-centre size in good nick structurally, to build into a winter/commuting machine. If it needs a repaint, no problem, likewise a seized or past-it headset and/or BB can be easily dealt with. Preferably with 2 sets of bottle bosses, down tube lever mounts rack and guard mountings and capable of taking a modern 130mm OLN back wheel. Would prefer a frame kitted out for canti brakes but will consider one for caliper brakes too. Drop me a line if you've something to suit. Willing to pay a sensible price plus postage in UK only or can collect reasonably local to Winchester if you're near a railway station (can't drive)!

Thanks in advance,
David

Is this of any interest to you?

Currently built with new modern budget wheels and Shimano golden arrow/600 mix

Already got plenty of bits waiting to be swapped onto a frame so was looking for frame/forks only with a view to fitting these parts. Thanks all the same for replying, if nothing else comes along will certainly bear it in mind.

I have a couple of carlton corsas that may fit the bill. I will run a tape over them in the morning and take a couple of pics as well.
will be reasonable price and I can get them to you without too much problem.

cheers

Guess what! one is a 24 and the other is 22.

The 22 if frame and forks, the 24 is complete except for a saddle - but could easily be stripped. both need refurbing but are sound.
£35 for F&F £45 for complete 24

I can do pics if you are interested
Cheers

Hi David, here are some pictures. I've tried two show the areas of paint damage, otherwise as you can see it's useable as is. :D

Thanks for the photos. Paint doesn't seem too irreparable, any idea on the rough colour? Enamel from the local model/toy shop or car paint from Halfords ought to suffice for the chipped bits, whilst for the missing BB cable guide you mentioned, a replacement is only a couple of quid.
Keen on purchasing so far, will be in touch with an offer in a few days.
