WTB Bon Tempe

Its not mine but a friend who owns a shop. Its built by Steve Potts and the Ti welding is simply the best I have seen. He has a Judy SL fork on the way for it.

8)

I think I saw this bike up @ Dalby a while ago (a year or so) with another Bon Tempe (with an alloy swingarm IIRC & modernish parts)

If it is the bike I think it is I was on an Orange 5 with a mate on a Specialized Pitch, I spent a while drooling & asking questions, I did mention this forum but guess the owner forgot (if it is the same bike)

Nice to see one again.

Hi Andy
You didn't see the bike pictured. You saw my friend's Bon Tempe with the Ti swingarm and my Bon Tempe with the alloy swingarm.
After having ridden my friends bike I got in touch with WTB in 2003 and they had one frame left which I purchased for $1000 - The alloy swingarm has the advantage of having disc mounts whereby the Ti only has canti bosses. I would prefer the Ti though!
My friend has a brake therapy floating disc brake mount so he has now fitted disc brakes.
We now have Steve Potts welded Ti Castellano bikes which are softtails. Brilliant bikes.
Softails great for winter and Bon Tempes for summer!

Ahh, welcome to Retrobike Richey O!

Good to see you here :)

Feel free to post up pics of your WTB's, I'm sure they'll be drooled over as they deserve to be, they're beautiful bikes 8)

I will post a picture when I get it back on the "road" - I am just having the bushings machined for the Fox shock.

Best get on this forum

Hello rich, thought that since you been bragging about our Bon tempes I had best get on here and do the same,I noticed mr O managed to slip into the conversation that we also have a couple of castellanos,He has a tendency to do that(sorry everyone)on the other hand the bikes ,despite being a bit old now ride quite beautifully and both get utterly thrashed, they are most definitely not Molly coddled, and ,thank you jimplops I think they are probably the most attractive bikes ever made.I will try and get some pics of the BT and the silk Ti on here, come on rich ,you are the computer geek give the guys some photos, back soon
