Decided to put them on a set of wheels today and........................................................yes
BL$DDY 50mm split in the side wall.
Very boring :cry:

Mmmm....I'm hoping this won't get nasty, but the seller has suggested I slashed the tyres when I opened the box. Good job I still have the box to show I'm not quite such an animal :roll:

PS Russell Cycles no longer have any magics, I wonder when they sold out?

Think the implication is/was that I used a machete or something to
open the box, thus carelessly slashing the tyres during my frenzied attack.
He has offered to sell me another pair, and will charge no postage

I'm not sure if my memory is playing up, but i remember an article from BITD that suggested using some dollar bills to line the tyres if they got slashed 'out on the trail'. Now obviously dollar bills are a bit scarce in this country, but how about using duck tape? Anything to line the tyre, to stop the tube protruding...... It may not be perfect, but i'm more of a bodge it type person.
