I was down at a mates garage yesterday booking the K70 in to have the front calipers rebuilt. Graham said he will try and get them done for me if I leave the car with him for the week as he was really busy.

I then suggested that if he takes the brakes off I would have ago at rebuilding them with the kit arriving from Germany.

That's when the laughter started.

I phoned him this morning regarding another old Jolopy and he was still bloody laughing!!

al. :(

'I believe in fixes' does the same when i talk about working on my bikes

I don't why either

Simple job, I don't know why they would laugh but perhaps that is standard practise down there. I went into a garage way back looking for a wee long shaft screw driver as the bike I was test riding was stuttering on wind down.

The guy laughed cause I reckoned the idle jets were the problem, he wanted to strip the carbs off and 'might be ready tomorrow' if you leave it with me. I was bang on the money and had it purring like a big pussy.

Tightened them back in and went back to the owner, made the deal at a veritable bargain price.

Cornish.

Dolts!

Al excepted, being an immigrant.

It's not the theory I'm short of, it's I'm a little shall we say cack-handed!!

al.

ps he's still laughing.

My Dad used to repair/bleed/replace the brakes on his car and i mind as a kid pumping the brakes for him 8)
Mind you he was the senior project manager/leader for BAe sema   so i suppose car brakes are rather simple for him.

I'm in that club too

And that is why. That and attacking your trimble with a hammer and taking a hacksaw to your carbon forks. It will all end in tears and expensive facial re-constructive surgery.

I ask just one thing T.

If you do take sharp objects to your bikes, would you film it for me?
