who was 'eddy'?

while out on the buckshaver today i found myself thinking, who was Eddy? as in yo-eddy.

where did the name come from? was it an employee? a relative?

also before i got the buck resrayed this was the headtube logo, who was this supposed to be?

the Buck Shaver was the nick name of Pat Egan an employee who passed away ,i think but if you dig around on FatCogs its on there somewhere.

Not sure what he looks like ,but the decal looks like Chris Chance

ps no idea who Eddy was !
