When builds go well...

Just built up the '89 Fire Mountain as a commuter with bits I've got lying about the garage and ended up building a really nice bike. Turns out that I have nothing worse than XT parts hanging about so even a hack like this ends up with pretty much a full XT group, XC-Pro brakes, Mavic M231CD rims and such like. Seems a shame to run it with slicks and never ride it off road, too nice to use just as a commuter in fact.

Now I'm stuck with yet another nice bike, and I need to start my search all over again for an old frame/bits to build up to ride to work on. Maybe the Dynatech can fill this void :)

Random musings really. This is how collections grow and garages fill

yup - same goes for my Lava Dome - another bike I am *intending* as a hack/turbo trainer that will probably end up too nice for that!

D'you still have the X1 frame?? I might have the perfect frame & fork for your commuter bike. s'got cantis and rapidfires on it too, all NOS. :D

It's only a 16.5" though so it's a bit small for me, but I really want that X1....just don't have cash.
