Hi there, for sale lovely set of (1997) Mavic SUP 217 sunset rims, with orange alloy nipples, Ritchey WCS double butted spokes on Shimano XT (rear) and Specialized SWorks Stout / radial (front) hubs. The rear hub does not have a QR. Condition as follows:
Front wheel – Running true with no flat spots and bearings relatively smooth. The orange alloy nipples are difficult to turn, and trueing could prove difficult if trying. Some do turn others don’t.
Rear wheel – Not running true (about 2mm side to side movement) and has a notable high spot (not flat spot) when spun up and hub bearings are smooth. The orange alloy nipples are difficult to turn, and trueing could prove difficult if trying to remove the high spot. Some do turn others don’t. The rim edge is a little scratched = looks like its been partly ridden on a flat tyre in the past (see photos)
I’m a bike mechanic for 30yrs and build wheels regularly. Often alloy nipples seize onto the stainless-steel spokes and become difficult to true without damaging the alloy nipples. Hence, I have not opted to true the wheels before sale.

Overall, still a really nice usable wheelset. Price includes carefully boxing, courier and insured to value within UK only. Payment via online bank transfer, or PayPal friends or goods accepted.
