Senior Retro Guru
Hi, Now that I have sold my Saracen frame that I built with new modern components I have the wheels to sell.

Only done 200-300 miles.

These are modern components with a real retro feel:

Silver Hope Pro 3 [non disc hubs] cost me 180 pounds alone
Silver Mavic X717 32h Rims [some brake surface wear]
Silver DT Revolution Spokes
Purple alloy spoke nipples!

Run perfectly true.

120 pounds plus 15 pounds posted to UK only [it's worth it for hubs alone!]

Thanks,

Ian.

Oh I will have to see what hubs come up. These wheels though would save the effort of building wheels.

Decisions.

This spec of wheel costs a lot to build.
Hubs are 180 pounds pair
Rims are 38 each
DT Rev spokes are 2 pounds each!
Wheel build is 30 pounds.
That's nearly 400 quid!!!

Cheers,

Chaser.

If I wasn't a Hope dealer, I'd bite your arm off for these at this price.

Free bump for bargain of the month.

What's the weight of them and what sort of wear do the rims have ? I can't quite tell from the picture.
Hardly used, halfway used, almost seeing the wear marks

Them damn purple nipples though. How old are they in yrs ?

The weight is approx 1500g for the pair.

I'd say they were maybe 1/3rd worn, I dont know, difficult to say. there is some wear but not really very much. The lines you can see are more staining than grooves.

They are less than a year old. I had the purple nips to match my modern build on the Purple Saracen.

Nips are easy to change... loosen then, unscrew them form the inner rim one at a time and replace with desired nips. Then its just a case of re tensioning the wheel, or getting your local LBS to do it.

If you bought the hubs alone they would cost 180 pounds!!

Cheers,

Chaser.
