What's Woodbury Common like?

Once I can finally shake off this damned infection I have, plus the side effects of the antibiotics, I want to try a few places I've not ridden before, one of which is Woodbury Common, which, for reasons know only unto my addled brain I thought was near Plymouth.... which of course, it isn't. :facepalm:

So, what's it like, and which trails would you recommend for a retro rider (no banzai full sussers here).

I did it first time a month or so ago Neil and think its great.The trails stay dry up there apparently and are very pebbly/sandy in most places and rate it more than the quantocks for a rigid (normally me) :facepalm: No big climbs either really just short power climbs too.

Looking forward to getting over again soon hopefully.

We have been to Haldon a few times recently and enjoy it a lot, but we thought it would be nice to try some different places.

The thing is i prefer to ride a natural trail over following a trail with arrows and stuff any day.

Having said that i remember saying at the time amedias and coomber it would of been no good me going on my own and not knowing the area and coming back saying Woodbury's no good,much better to follow the locals and learn the routes

I know jimbo-xc has just moved just a mile or so away so he's now local,same with amedias and anjantom.

Let me know when you fancy it and will have a drive over.

When you are fully recovered let me know I will rustle up a few for a ride there. If you went with me I'd get us lost!

Did anything come of this, have you made it down here yet Neil?

Would be well up for another RB meet, I was up on the common the other week and although a bit boggy has survived the persistent rain quite well considering...
