Whats this, looks very nice for £99 bin Ritchey dropouts

i seem to remember seeing those years ago, when i got my 1996 p7 i was offered this as a cheaper option because i was speccing a whole bike starting with the p7 frame.

it was a 100 pounds or so cheaper which would have enabled me at the time to get a judy sl fork as opposed to the xc that i did get. i'm sure they called it a "stout light" but basically it was a reasonable quality far east frame, as stated more than likely merida built.

I remember the post about this, thought that was a prestige frame (had the Prestige logo on it and probably bendy stays)and bought pretty cheap. So this must be another one.. the built up frame one with poor pictures hum./

A lot of them seem to have similar serial number formats. If M509 0091 is in the same format as most, it was the 91st frame that Merida built in Sep 95. The only problem with that logic though, is that I would have thought Merida built a lot more than 9,999 frames per month.

Although it might be a good frame, I think it's over-priced. I don't understand why Oranges are so cheap, but the fact is that you could get a 95 P7 frame and forks for £99, or less sometimes. So why pay £99 for a no-name where you don't know the tubeset, the geometry, the weight, nor nuffink, and it certainly isn't a total classic like a P7?
