What's the cheapest courier / carrier from USA to UK?

Hello there

Have managed to find an elusive set of forks - but they're in the USA and I'm in the UK! The seller's a bit fragile about it all, and it's difficult to find out how much it should roughly cost and the best method of sending them over to the UK?

Any pointers, very much appreciated!

Re:

Can't go wrong with USPS IMO Richard. It's who I always use, the tracking info is always good and I've never had anything lost in transit (touch wood). Their prices for shipping frame, wheels etc are way cheaper than most other options too.

Yep - I'm happy with USPS too - however, the seller, who's clearly not used to international shipping has gone very quiet and very cold. I think he's now thinking that he's now underpriced the forks given the foreign interest which may explain why he's no longer responding atm...

Will be really fecking annoyed if I can't get these - have been searching for this exact size and length of steerer for MONTHS!

If it helps, I can be the middle man and send 'em along to you in the UK. I'm in (well, near) Atlanta, GA.

Done it loads of times for RBUKers in the UK and beyond.

and plus 1 for USPS. It's really the only economical way to get a large package across the ocean.

Hello PeteC

Many thanks for responding - I've now actually managed to conclude this, but managed to have another RB forum user attempt to defraud me with additional PayPal charges in the process! Long story short, you're on your own on this forum, as the forum mod wasn't interested at all in assisting, or doing anything about it at all. He was quite keen to give the whole thing a very wide berth and sit on his hands, despite the offending US fraudster refusing to cooperate with him when he eventually made an enquiry of him....

I really appreciate the offer though, so if it comes up again - I'll defo give you a shout!

Sorry to hear this. I probably should've looked at the dates of the original posting though. Didn't realize it was back in August!

Approx $70-90

Can anybody indicate a cost for say a frame? Would give me an idea about getting stuff down here to NZ

New Zealand is about $95 to $110 USD, depending on final weight. But the box MUST fit within the max 'length plus girth' spec of 108 inches...which most MTB frames do quite easily (e.g., 35 x 25, 9 inches is fine).
