I have other idea's for the bike and aren't going to use it.
As uncomfortable as it looks, it really is not.

So these are effectively bar ends, clamped to the end of the bar (would have to be removable to thread through the stem).

they have 2 little hex key bolts to attach it to the handlebar.
If anything it's cleverly made.
