Title says it all really
Im looking for the original crud race guard,it had two alloy rods that were supported at the rear via the rear eyelets
Anyone know why they stopped making them, all thats about these days is one that clips onto the seatpost and its still called 'race' and it looks pants
Better still, anyone know who sells them?

amazing I was just going to post the same question! They were a bit noisy but looked so much better than the current ones.

I have been using some very trick-looking carbon-look lightweight fenders from THE (Toby Henderson Equipment) that work really well when I put them on in the Winter. They attach to the underside of the fork with a Star nut in front and with a supplied arm that attaches to the seatpost in the rear

In the Winter I use the old type (but not the oldest) crud catcher, it's the "Race Guard" similar to the one you mention but without the rods. It's so much better looking than the new stuff. I just wish it had a quick release instead of having to remove the seatpost to fit. :(

Got the older style front Crud Catcher too.

Is there such a thing as a quick release rear crud catcher? And if it exists where could I find one?

For years I used a front crud catcher and a blackburn mountain rack. Not the last word in rain/crap protection but worked ok and looked better than those seatpost mounted items and obviously with the added bonus of being a rack. Think this is what'll be going on my latest. Anyone know where you can get a decent crud catcher?
